Actress Anjana Sukhani had a gala time bonding with Dimple Kapadia

Actress Anjana Sukhani, who plays a middleclass girl in romantic comedy `Tum Milo To Sahi’, had a gala time bonding with veteran actors like Dimple Kapadia and Nana Patekar.

"Dimple never made us feel that she is a senior actress. She was more like a friend, a teenager at heart. I did not call ma`am. I would call her D. She is very bubbly, sophisticated and classy all at the same time," Anjana told reporters in an interview.

The `Bobby` actress has united with Patekar after 16 years for the movie. They were last seen together in 1994` film `Krantiveer`.

Talking about Nana, who is known for his angry image in the media, Anjana said the actor was the joker on the sets and did funny things to ensure a laugh after a hectic day of
shooting.

Directed by Kabir Sadanand and produced by Nikhil Panchammiya, the film is about three couples played by Dimple Kapadia-Nana Patekar, Suniel Shetty-Vidya Malvade and Anjana Sukhani-Rehan Khan.

Anjana, who was last seen in Mahesh Bhatt`s film `Jashn`, plays one of the youngest couple in the movie alongside Rehan Khan. The film released today.

"My character suffers from inferiority complex and tries to project herself as someone, who is rich," says Anjana.

"I identified with the character because when I was in school I also used to pretend that I have this and that. I guess these things are big in middleclass," she adds.

The actress, who has worked in hit comedy `Golmaal Returns`, will also sport a grunge look for the movie.

"I have a very grunge look in the movie. It is completely different. She is nice girl at heart but at the same time someone who breaks the norm and thinks out-of-the-box. I had lots of arguments with my director on my looks," says Anjana.

After her stint in `Golmaal Returns`, Anjana is keen to do more comedy but she does not want to repeat herself as an actress.

"What I would really love is to lots of comedy. Romantic comedy is something that is really close to my heart. But I think one should keep challenging oneself. I don`t want to do same kind of cinema," she says.

Anjana will next be seen playing the lead opposite Sharman Joshi in `Allah Ke Bande`, a gritty film about juvenile crime in India.

"It is Sharman`s first gray role. I am playing the lead opposite him. It is based on juvenile crime and deals with what happens to the youngsters when they go to these jails and how it changes their life," says Anjana.

Asin has already arrived while Trisha is on her way. Now, the beeline of south actresses headed for Bollywood has got another name added: the Malayalam actress Vimala Raman.

Rumour has it that Vimala will make her Bollywood debut in a film opposite none other than Salman Khan. The film is titled ‘Ambapali’ and is a remake of a yesteryear south movie of the same name.

Renowned Bollywood director Ashutosh Gowarikar will reportedly direct the flick, but an official confirmation of this is still awaited from the director.

Meanwhile, sources close to Vimala Raman say that the actress is ecstatic at the prospect of making her Bollywood debut and that too opposite a heartthrob like Salman.

Arshad Warsi plans to direct British filmmaker Guy Ritchie`s movies

Arshad Warsi, who has juggled roles as choreographer, actor and producer in over a decade in Bollywood, wants to do more dark roles. He also plans to direct a "quirky, action comedy", something like British filmmaker Guy Ritchie`s movies.

"My next step will be direction. I am working on a script," Arshad told reporters in an interview. "The film will be a quirky, action comedy. It will be a Guy Ritchie kind of film with effective one-liners and stuff."

But before venturing into direction he wants to wrap up all his commitments.

"At the moment I have many commitments to fulfil and projects to finish. Once I`m done with that and I get enough time, I will get into direction. May be middle or end of next year, I will divert my focus to direction," he said.

Arshad turned producer with the recently released ‘Hum, Tum Aur Ghost’. He played the lead in the film that also starred Boman Irani and Dia Mirza. It was directed by Kabir Kaushik of ‘Sehar’ fame.

When asked about his experience as producer, the 41-year-old said: "I`m happy because I was with the people I loved. All my co-stars in the film were my friends, they are brilliant actors, wonderful people and we had similar sensibilities.

"We were making a film that all of us related to. So we were happy doing it and this happiness was worth a lot," he added.

Arshad began his career as choreographer and then made his debut as an actor with Amitabh Bachchan`s ABCL`s first venture ‘Tere Mere Sapne’ in 1996. After the film`s success, he acted in several other movies, but most of them failed to set cash registers ringing.

Lady luck smiled on the actor in 2003 when he featured in Vidhu Vinod Chopra`s ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ as Circuit alongside Sanjay Dutt. The comedy not only was a huge box office success, it also fetched him much critical acclaim. Later he was seen in several successful movies such as ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya’, ‘Golmaal’, ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’, ‘Golmaal Returns’.

He also wowed the audiences with his performance in action crime drama ‘Sehar’.

After the success of ‘Munnabhai...’, Arshad, who is married to ex-MTV VJ Maria Goretti, was mostly seen in comic capers.

But the actor says he is planning to shift his attention to serious cinema soon. Recently he proved his worth in Vishal Bhardwaj`s ‘Ishqiya’ - from critics to movie buffs, everyone raved about his performance.

"My roles in films like `Sehar` is what I really like and I would be doing something other than comedy very soon. There is a dark film that I will be doing. It`s a hardcore cop role in an issue based film. I will start working on it, probably by July," said Arshad during his recent visit to the capital.

Other than this, Arshad will be seen in the sequel ‘Shortkut 2: The Con is Back’.

Actor Arjun Rampal has three films lined up for release this year

Bollywood heartthrob Arjun Rampal has three films lined up for release this year and the National award winning actor says he is having "jitters" as the release dates are getting closer.

"Beginning to get the jitters as films are getting closer to release... always happens," the 37-year-old posted on his Twitter account.

"`Housefull` will be the first one on April 30, followed by `Raajneeti` on June 4. I know there is time but still get these pangs of anxiety... it reminds me of days when exam result day would near," Arjun posted on his Twitter account.

His third release is Karan Johar`s yet-to-be titled film, which is an adaptation of Chris Columbus` 1998 comedy drama "Stepmom".

"`Stepmom` will be released some time in August or September... looking forward to all three, all very different from each other, (I) had a great time making them," he said.

While "Housefull" is a comedy directed by Sajid Khan and also stars Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Lara Dutta, and Ritesh Deshmukh, "Raajneeti" is a political thriller written, directed, and produced by Prakash Jha. It also stars Ajay Devgn, Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor.

In the "Stepmom" remake, Arjun has teamed up with Kajol and Kareena Kapoor.

Pakistan's Former Captain Shoaib Malik to Wed Indian Girl Sania Mirza

LAHORE: Former Pakistan cricket captain Shoaib Malik is engaged to Indian Tennis Star Sania Mirza and the two will soon be tying the knot, leading television channels in India and Pakistan reported on Monday.

While reports about the engagement started doing rounds since early evening, Sania’s father Imran Mirza, a former sports journalist, confirmed the news to a leading Indian channel, Aaj Tak, while speaking from Hyderabad Deccan later in the evening.

A few channels also quoted Sania’s agents as confirming the development, which took many by surprise. According to the channel, Shoaib’s mother met Sania’s parents in India and sought their consent for making Sania her daughter-in-law.

In Sialkot, Malik’s family sources confirmed the news and disclosed that date for the wedding would be decided in the first week of April. The valima reception is likely to be held in Lahore in mid-April.

Malik, serving a one-year ban imposed by the Pakistan Cricket Board, is currently in Sharjah for the Bangladesh League.

The all-rounder was also in the news for similar reasons during Pakistan cricket team’s tour to India in 2005. He was then accused of ditching another Indian girl, Ayesha Siddiqui, who coincidentally belonged to Hyderabad. The two had met through Internet and got married. Ayesha’s father had also threatened to sue Malik for jilting the girl. Malik later denied having any relations whatsoever with her.

Sania Mirza, on the other hand, had also hit the headlines last year after she called off her engagement with an Indian businessman and friend, Mohammad Sohrab Mirza.

Reliable sources told Dawn that Malik’s involvement with Sania had a hand in the break up of her first engagement. In a recent interview, Malik had said: “I desire to get married soon. You will soon get some good news but it depends on my family. I expect to get married this year.”

Asked if it would be an arranged marriage, he said: “No one can say what will happen, but it will take place with the consent of my family.”

Hrithik Roshan Turns Singer For ‘Kites’

A good singer and a terrific dancer, Hrithik Roshan now has his finger in another pie. He’s turned singer for his papa’s production Kites in which he pairs up with Mexican hottie Barbara Mori.

From what we learn, the film’s director Anurag Basu heard Hrithik singing in a jam session after dinner one evening. Convinced that Hrithik would be able to croon a song, Basu prodded him to record a number for the film.

Reluctantly and nervously, Hrithik agreed and sang the song ‘Kites in the sky’. The track is composed by Hrithik’s uncle Rajesh Roshan.

“I was nervous to make my debut as a singer considering I come from a family that is well known in the world of music, but for this very reason my chacha (Rajesh Roshan) and Anurag were most certain that I could sing,” Hrithik said in a statement to the media.

The film’s music will be launched on 40 TV channels simultaneously as part of a roadblock marketing with the airing of the song ‘Kites In the sky’ on March 29 at 9.30 pm.

Actor Arshad Warsi has hiked his price after the success of 'Ishqiya'

Talented actor Arshad Warsi says he has hiked his price after the success of ’Ishqiya’ but he isn’t sure if he’ll be paid what he’s asking.

The actor said: ’I’d have asked for what I deserve even if ’Ishqiya’ hadn’t worked. I’m finally asking for the price I deserve. I was completely underpaid earlier. I’ll ask for a certain price now (Rs.3 crore). If I don’t get it I’ll continue to be an underpaid actor for films I believe in.’

’For example if I am asked to do a sequel to ’Ishqiya’ I wouldn’t ask for money. I haven’t ever asked for money for the Munnabhai movies. If I feel the film helps me in any way as an actor I’ll cut my price,’ he added.

But ’Gol Maal’, Arshad feels, is a commercial film and therefore should be lucrative for him.

’ ’Gol Maal’ doesn’t help the actors at all. It only helps the director. ’Munnabhai’ does help the actors. Even ’Dhamaal’, whose sequel I’m doing, doesn’t help actors. ’Gol Maal’ and ’Dhamaal’ mean another hit for me. Nothing more.’

Between ’Gol Maal 3’ and ’Dhamaal’ Arshad is doing Mani Ratnam’s assistant Bijoy Nambiar’s gritty real-life drama.

’After ’Gol Maal 3’ I’ll do a small-budget film before going into ’Dhamaal’. It’s the kind of film that enthuses me as an actor. I play a cop in a real-life setting in Mumbai.’

Arshad was almost not in ’Gol Maal 3’ because of the price factor, though he gives another reason for his near non-presence in ’Gol Maal 3’.

’I needed a gap of at least two weeks between the last day of my own production and the first day of the shooting of ’Gol Maal’. After running around like a mad man for the promotion of ’Ishqiya’ and completing ’Hum Tum Aur Ghost’ I really needed a break. I’ve had no chance to relax. But now I’m starting ’Gol Maal 3’ on the day after the release of ’Hum Tum Aur Ghost’. So no respite. I really begged them for time off.’

He’s also not sure if he’s part of the Munnabhai franchise any more.

’In the last conversation I had with Raj Kumar Hirani he said he’s working on his script. It looks like we might be doing it at the end of the year. But until it happens I can’t be sure. What I’m sure of are the ’Gol Maal’ and ’Dhamaal’ sequels.’

Arshad said: ’I’m very much obliged to the makers of ’Gol Maal’ for making me a part of their franchise. My equity is bound to increase with the sequels.’

Arshad will now turn director in 2011 with an action thriller but very stylish in execution.

’I’m ready to direct. It’s a film called ’Akadd’. It will be a very realistic, quirky action comedy. I won’t be beating up 25 people in the film. The style of acting, dialogue delivery, the actors’ body language would all be life-like. The heroine’s role is very very important.’

Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore walked the ramp in a red silk sari

Veteran actress and Censor Board chief Sharmila Tagore sashayed down the ramp with 92-year-old SEWA artisan Hansiba Ben to showcase a new collection by the NGO`s Hansiba initiative here.

The brand Hansiba is named after Hansiba Ben. Also giving Sharmila company on the ramp Saturday was Venezuelan Ambassador Milena Santana Ramirez.

Sharmila walked the ramp in a red silk sari with a colourful border, designed by Self Employed Women`s Association (SEWA) artisans and French designer, Graham Hollick, to encourage the new collection - "Ananta - The Flamboyant Stitch".

"I have kept track of the workings of SEWA since a long time. They have done good work in making Hansiba, a well-known brand. Today, I am wearing a Hansiba sari, not only because I support this initiative but also because it is so pretty and makes me look beautiful," said Sharmila, 63.

Hansiba, the flagship brand of a prominent Gujarat women`s self-help organisation, belongs to STFC (SEWA Trade Facilitation Centre), a non-profit organisation jointly owned and managed by over 3,200 rural artisans.

Right from the raw materials to the entire supply chain, it is managed by rural women. Hansiba as a fashion brand was launched by more than 15,000 women artisans.

Hansiba has its own stores in Ahmedabad, Delhi and Mumbai and is awaiting one in Bangalore.

The Hindi remake of Hollywood hit ‘The Italian Job’ hit the floors in July

After dilly dallying the project for over two years, director duo Abbas-Mustan is all set to start off with the Hindi remake of Hollywood hit ‘The Italian Job’. The much-awaited venture, which stars two of most sought after actors of Bollywood - Abhishek Bachchan and Neil Nitin Mukesh, is slated to hit the floors in July.

Rumours were rife that the remake of Hollywood’s action thriller ‘The Italian Job’ has been called off because of the producers’ fear over film’s non-commercial value. However, refuting the trade buzz that the film has been shelved, Abbas has asserted to the media that the film is very on.

Shariq Patel, Production Head, Indian Film Company, the banner of the corporate major, adds, “We’re at the point of finishing all the paperwork with Paramount. We meet Abbas-Mustan at least once every week for an update. Abhishek Bachchan has been signed on, Neil Mukesh has been confirmed. In another 10 days, we’ll get the final dates from the stars. We plan to roll by the third quarter at the latest.”

When asked if Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra are being considered for the same, Patel said, “We’re in talks, we’ll announce the names as soon as things are locked.” Buzz is that that the schedule will be planned according to Bachchan’s dates, since he’s the biggest star.

Declining to comment on the budget, Patel asserts, “We’ve locked the figures with Abbas-Mustan. It’s the biggest film from our studio. We will endeavour to make it as cost-effective as we can, but we won’t compromise on quality. Depending on when we begin filming, we will set the release date accordingly, that can be any time between next summer to Diwali.”

Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor will be hitting the road and travelling to different cities in India in the month of April. However, it’s not a recreational tour or a fun getaway, but a nationwide promotional campaign to promote their upcoming movie Raajneeti by director Prakash Jha.

Since the movie is a political thriller, Ranbir and Katrina will visit college campuses in different Indian cities and debate with students over political issues. This year Aishwarya Rai has four films lined up for release

Last year she was seen in just one film - Hollywood’s ’Pink Panther’. But this year Aishwarya Rai has four films lined up for release - two southern projects ’Ravana’ and ’Endhiran’ as well as ’Action Replay’ and ’Guzaarish’, collectively costing over Rs.300 crore (Rs.3 billion).

While her bilingual sci-fi film ’Endhiran’, starring southern star Rajnikanth, is said to be made at a budget of Rs.125 crore (Rs.1.25 billion), approximately Rs.45 crore (Rs.450 million) has been spent on Mani Ratnam’s much-awaited ’Ravana’, which is set for a June release.

Vipul Shah’s ’Action Replay’ costs around Rs.60 crore (Rs.600 million) and if reports are to be believed, UTV is shelling out close to Rs.80 crore (Rs. 800 million) for Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed ’Guzaarish’ for which Aishwarya is currently shooting along with Hrithik Roshan in Mumbai.

Aishwarya has been busy shooting all these films for the past one year and even suffered health problems due to her hectic schedules.

According to a well-placed source from the team of ’Ravana’, the Hindi version of which also features Abhishek Bachchan, the actress has given some of the most difficult shots in the movie without complaining about geographical or weather conditions used to can the scenes.

’Aishwarya’s role in ’Ravana’ is the toughest. In the Hindi version, Vikram (southern star) plays Ram and Ravana in the Tamil vesrion. And Aishwarya plays Sita in both the Hindi and Tamil versions. Both the versions were simultaneously shot. Mani Ratnam canned the film in the most difficult and dangerous places. Still Aishwarya gave the same shots twice for the two versions - be it in the rain, on mountains, jungle, etc,’ a source told IANS.

’People say Vikram’s role in the film is the toughest, but the actor himself feels Aishwarya’s role is the most difficult,’ the source added.

While shooting for ’Ravana’ in the jungles of Kerala, the entire cast and crew had a scary experience when an elephant ran amok and killed a 51-year-old mahout, Andavan. The actors including Abhishek, Aishwarya, Vikram, Prabhu and Munna had to take shelter in a guest house and survived on bread and eggs.

’Ravana’ is said to be a modern-day version and a loose adaptation of the Hindu epic Ramayana.

Apart from ’Ravana’, Aishwarya’s role in another southern project ’Endhiran’ has been a well-guarded secret till now, but some leaked photographs of the film’s shooting show her in a different avatar.

’Action Replay’, starring Akshay Kumar, is a time-travel tale in the 1950s and its storyline is based on an eponymous 1994 Gujarati Indian play. The director has emphasised a lot on the lead actors’ ’retro looks’ in the movie.

’We, Akshay’s designer Shabina Khan, Aishwarya’s designer Manish Malhotra and all of us have worked really, really hard to give ’Action Replay’ a unique look. If that look is leaked out, we’d lose our biggest USP,’ Shah had told IANS.

In ’Guzaarish’, the actress will play a married nurse who falls in love with a paraplegic patient essayed by Hrithik.

Though each role is different from the others, it remains to be seen which one of these strikes gold at the box office.

Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra is in a dilemma about whom to cast as Milkha Singh in Bhag Milkha Bhag. While the filmmaker wants Abhishek Bachchan to play the title role, Milkha Singh himself insists that Akshay Kumar would be the ideal choice.

“I strongly feel that my role should be played by Akshay Kumar. Being a Punjab da puttar, he has the right physique and also acts well,” Milkha says.

But a source says, “The fact is that Rakeysh Mehra doesn’t want to take a final call till he and Prasoon Joshi, who is the film’s story, screenplay and dialogue writer, have finalised the script.”

When asked if he wants Abhishek to play the lead role, Rakeysh Mehra says, “It’s too early to speak about who will play the role. Nothing has been finalised yet.” Bhag Milkha Bhag is scheduled to go on the floors next year.

By now you must have got the breaking news that Sahara Group won the bid for the IPL team Pune for a staggering $370 million yesterday.

Along with Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor there was another Bollywood couple who participated in the bid. Both Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif were present in Chennai for the bidding of the new IPL teams but they placed the bids separately.

The Barbie doll of Bollywood was there representing Matrix along with the Adani Group from Ahmedabad and was vying for Pune team, as was Salman. However, Salman made a separate bid. Why?

Katrina clarified this to a tabloid: “I wasn’t bidding with Salman…I was not bidding at all. Salman had put in a separate bid.”

But as things turned out, none from Bollywood could grab the golden opportunity of owning an IPL team.

Salman, who was quite confident about his win, reportedly had a party planned back at home to celebrate the victory. Par yeh ho na saka. And the man is now reportedly upset, and suspects “foul play by vested interests.”

Photojournalist Margaret Moth has died of Cancer

New Zealand-born internationally renowned CNN photojournalist Margaret Moth has died of cancer at the age of 59.

Moth was born in Gisborne, New Zealand. She was born Margaret Wilson and reportedly changed her name because she loved parachuting from Tiger Moth airplanes.

She came up with consequent blood transfusion, but she struggled more than three years with colon cancer that causes to end her tremendous life journey.

Despite battling a terminal disease for the last three years of her life, Moth, who was born Margaret Wilson but changed her last name to Moth because she loved parachuting from planes, knew she had lived her life to the fullest. She said: “I don’t know anyone who’s enjoyed life more.”

Alice in Wonderland remains the queen of the box office

Alice remains the queen of the box office. Johnny Depp and Tim Burton`s "Alice in Wonderland" took in $34.5 million to remain the No. 1 movie for a third-straight weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday.

The Disney release raised its domestic haul to $265.8 million and its worldwide total to $565.8 million after just three weekends in theaters, a huge result for a film playing in the typically slow month of March.

"You rarely see this kind of domination by one movie at this time of year," said Paul Dergarabedian, box-office analyst for Hollywood.com. "Normally at this time of year, films don`t make this kind of money, and they don`t hold in this long."

"Alice in Wonderland" easily beat a rush of new movies led by 20th Century Fox`s family film "Diary of a Wimpy Kid," which opened at No. 2 with $21.8 million. The movie is adapted from Jeff Kinney`s cartoon novel about a sixth grader maneuvering through the intricate social structure at his middle school, which includes its own "cooties" game known as the "cheese touch."

"I think cheese touch equals magic touch at the box office," said Chris Aronson, head of distribution at 20th Century Fox.

Debuting at No. 3 was Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler`s action comedy "The Bounty Hunter" with $21 million. Released by Sony, the movie follows a bounty hunter chasing his ex-wife, a reporter with an arrest warrant over her head after she misses a court date while pursuing a story.

"We had figured an estimate in the high teens, so 20-plus million is a good number for us," said Rory Bruer, head of distribution for Sony.

Jude Law and Forest Whitaker`s action thriller "Repo Men" flopped with a No. 4 opening of $6.2 million. The Universal release features Law as a repo man on the run in a future where organs are bloodily repossessed if patients miss their payments.

In narrower release, Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning`s Joan Jett music drama "The Runaways" opened weakly with $803,629 in 244 theaters, averaging $3,294 a cinema.

That compared to an average of $9,229 in 3,739 theaters for "Alice in Wonderland," $7,085 in 3,077 theaters for "Diary of a Wimpy Kid," $6,831 in 3,074 cinemas for "The Bounty Hunter" and $2,440 in 2,521 locations for "Repo Men."

Released by Apparition, "The Runaways" stars Stewart as Jett and Fanning as singer Cherie Currie as they opened doors for women rockers in the 1970s with an all-girl band.

Ben Stiller`s comic drama "Greenberg" premiered strongly in limited release, pulling in $120,432 in three theaters for a huge average of $40,144 a cinema.

Released by Focus Features, "Greenberg" stars Stiller as a neurotic whose mean tongue jeopardizes a budding romance with his brother`s personal assistant (Greta Gerwig).

James Cameron`s science-fiction blockbuster "Avatar" remained in the top 10 three months into its run. The 20th Century Fox release pulled in $4 million to raise its domestic total to $736.9 million. Worldwide, "Avatar" has taken in $2.67 billion.

"Alice in Wonderland" continued to lift overall Hollywood revenues, which came in at $130 million for the weekend, up 23 percent from the same weekend last year, when the thriller "Knowing" debuted at No. 1 with $24.6 million.

So far this year, domestic revenues are at $2.43 billion, up 10.3 percent over 2009`s, according to Hollywood.com. Factoring in higher ticket prices, movie attendance is 8.2 percent ahead of last year`s.

Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Hollywood.com. Final figures will be released Monday.

Oscar winner Julia Roberts Eat, Pray, Love has been announced

Release date for Oscar winner Julia Roberts (Pretty Woman) starrer ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ has been announced, its trailer is out, but now Hindus are concerned about the authenticity of the depiction of Hinduism objects-rituals-beliefs-concepts-traditions-philosophy in it.

Directed by Emmy nominated Ryan Murphy (Nip/Tuck), its India part was shot in/around Pataudi, about 60 kilometers from India``s capital Delhi. Starting with USA release on August 13, it will be released in India on August 27 by Sony Pictures. It is yet to be rated.

Acclaimed Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that Hinduism and its belief system were quite often incorrectly depicted outside India and he hoped that filmmakers in this case would stick to authentic traditions in order to avoid misrepresenting the already misunderstood religion, which was oldest and third largest in the world. Film, being a powerful medium, misrepresentation would not be fair to Hindus and Hinduism.

Zed, who is president of Universal Society of Hinduism, further said that Hindus welcomed Hollywood to explore the spirituality and rich philosophical thought of Hinduism but taking it seriously and depicting it authentically. Refashioning it for mercantile greed or to fit the Hollywood machine created more confusion and hurt the Hindu sentiments.

Zed pointed out that if the filmmaker needed any help concerning depiction of Hinduism or related issues, he or other Hindu scholars would be glad to assist.

Based on Pushcart Prize winner Elizabeth Gilbert``s spirituality/travel memoir (played by Roberts), "Eat, Pray, Love" is about her self-discovery and soul-searching after her nasty divorce, exploring through India, Italy, and Indonesia. Gilbert goes to India to learn the "art of devotion". A critic has defined it as "the worst in Western fetishization of Eastern thought and culture".

Meanwhile Bhavna Shinde of Forum for Hindu Awakening has said that filmmakers still have time before the August release to make a final visit to the movie and edit it accordingly so that authenticity of Hinduism is not compromised, and thus honoring the feelings of billion Hindus.

People of India will be anxious to see how perfectly Roberts does her job of cleaning ashram (hermitage) floors as a part of her devotional duty, trying to recite 182-verse Sanskrit chant, and going through grueling hours of meditation while being feasted on by mosquitoes. Gilbert reportedly spent four months in an India ashram few years back, trying to find her spirituality.

Besides Roberts, other cast of this drama film includes Golden Globe winner James Franco (Pineapple Express), Oscar winner Javier Bardem (Before Night Falls), MTV nominated Billy Crudup (Almost Famous), Oscar nominated Richard Jenkins (The Visitor), and Oscar nominated Viola Davis (Doubt). Dede Gardner (A Mighty Heart) is the producer, while Oscar nominated Brad Pitt (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) is the executive producer.

Scheduled for May 7 release, ‘Badmaash Company’ is actor Parmeet Sethi`s first directorial venture. Set in the 1990s in middle-class Mumbai, it is about four young friends who get together to start a company. Their business is an instant hit because they find a way to beat the system.

Action star Akshay Kumar recently enjoyed a tight slap from an extraordinary monkey. The ‘Khiladi Kumar’ did not mind it at all and took it sportingly as it was a part of a comic sequence in ‘Housefull’.

The actor was happy that the monkey, in question, was a special one - a Hollywood star. The monkey named Tara, a10-year-old female capuchin, rose to stardom as Captain Barbossa`s monkey ‘Jack’ in the Johnny Depp-starrer ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl’.

Tara is a superstar and according to reports, she has a whole range of toys designed after her character in the ‘Pirates…’. Sources reveal that when producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director Sajid Khan tried to get the monkey’s dates for their film, they came across a problem. Her dates clashed with those of Akshay Kumar. The producer-director finally managed to get one day for their shoot and the comic shot was completed at one go.

Sajid Nadiadwala is trying his best to get Tara’s dates to promote the film and bring her safely to Mumbai. After all, she is no less a star than Akshay Kumar.

Avatar is likely to encourage Indian filmmakers to try out 3D films

Success of James Cameron`s 3D epic ‘Avatar’ is likely to encourage Indian filmmakers to try out 3D films.

Rajesh Mishra, CEO -Indian operations UFO Moviez India Ltd; told PTI that technology providers like his company are in the process of implementing 3D compliant projection systems.

He said 2,500 of the total 13,000 cinemas in India are digitalised.

"In the next three years, there is likely to be 50 percent digitalisation," he said.

"We feel there is scope for fantasy and action genre movies to be shot in the 3D format. Lot of 3D films are in the planning stage," Mishra said.

At present, UFO Moviez has tied up with 200 multiplexes and 500 single screens across the country to screen IPL matches.

"We are working on the logistics to showcase the semi-finals and finals in 3D format for an immersive experience. The ticket rates would be slightly higher… about Rs 30 to 40 more than the current prices," Mishra said.

UFO Moviez has set up a stall at the ongoing FICCI-FRAMES conference to showcase their 3D technology.

IPL, When Katrina Kaif hugged Shahrukh Khan

Shahrukh Khan may be the arch foe of her beau Salman Khan, but that didn’t stop Katrina Kaif from opening up her arms and giving a warm, friendly hug to SRK at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on March 14.

It was a match between SRK’s team Kolkata Knight Riders and Vijay Mallya’s Bangalore Royal Challengers whose brand ambassador Katrina is. Though they were rooting for rival teams, Katrina and SRK met and exchanged pleasantries like two friends.

Katrina stepped forward and hugged SRK. The latter reciprocated with equal warmth and hugged her back. There was no discomfort or awkwardness apparent between the two.

Since it’s rare to see Kat hugging SRK, shutterbugs present at the venue did not miss the chance to click the image. We hope Salman won’t fume when he sees his arm candy embracing his foe.

To mark the centenary of the sailing of the great ship Titanic which sunk on its maiden voyage, acclaimed director James Cameron is coming up with a 3D version of his hit, Oscar winning movie Titanic which was released in 1997.

“We're targeting spring of 2012 for the release (of a 3D version of 'Titanic'), which is the 100th anniversary of the sailing of the ship,” contact music quoted Cameron as saying.

Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet in leading roles, the movie was a blockbuster hit and was nominated for fourteen Oscars out of which it bagged eleven.

Cameron also revealed his plan to release the director’s cut of his latest film Avatar later this year. He confirms that the film might re-release in the fall of 2010.

Autorun.inf is usually attached to many Windows events such as REFRESH, OPEN, etc. And on doing so, the virus is regenerated.

Close Window Explorer

* Go to run and open Command prompt by writing “CMD” into Start > “Run”
* To delete Virus attributes, write below given code line by line and to execute the commands, press Enter.

F:
F:attrib -s -r -h *.*

* All malicious files will be shown and you can delete them now by writing the following command.

F:del autorun.inf

* Remove your USB Drive as soon as you execute the above Del command.

* Your drive is now clean from Virus activation config file and you can delete unnecessary EXE files safely.

METHOD 3 (Automated Method)

* Download and run Flash_Disinfector.exe

* Flash Disinfector may ask you to insert removable devices.

* Let the Utility clean the drives.

* Restart computer and you are done!

IMPORTANT: Flash_Disinfector will create a Hidden Folder named Autorun.inf in each partition. Do not remove it. It will protect drives from Autorun.inf in future.
