Emraan Hashmi is known for playing grey roles

Emraan1

Emraan Hashmi is known for playing grey roles. Right from Murder, Gangster, Zeher and Jannat, the actor has convincingly slipped into the skin of characters with grey shades. Now, he does it again in the upcoming crime thriller Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai in which he plays a gangster evolving into an underworld don.

“I think I have that kind of face that people approach me with such roles (with negative shades).Till I don’t get clean shaved, film makers are bound to exploit the grey side of my personality,” Hashmi is quoted as saying by a news agency.

The actor admitted that he too loves playing the characters with grey shades.

“Well, there is something always so interesting about playing a guy who is living on the edge and is involved in something which is unethical or illegal but is still not totally black,” he added.

In this season of slapstick comedies, Emraan isn’t least bit perturbed that his next film Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai is a crime thriller set in 1970s.

Speaking about the film, he said: “Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai is about an era that has gone by where gangsters and criminals ruled from underworld. The way we perceive them right now is not the way we did then. It was a different world then.”

Hashmi is sure that the audience will like the movie which also stars Ajay Devgan, Kangana Ranaut and Prachi Desai. The movie is directed by Milan Luthria.
