Singer-cum-actor Justin Bieber is reportedly in talks to star in his first dramatic movie. If the deal goes through, Bieber could be acting alongside Mark Wahlberg in yet-to-be titled basketball movie. Source claim that this film centres on street basketball and it will be the perfect platform for the Canadian teen sensation to showcase both his acting talents and basketball skills.
Besides acting, Mark Wahlberg is also producing the movie with Stephen Levinson and Bieber's manager Scooter Braun. The idea of ropng in Justin Bieber came to the producers after they watched the Canadian singer playing at NBA Celebrity All-Star Game back in February where the singer was named MVP.
The movie is said to be a cross between The Color of Money and The Karate Kid. Ian Edelman has been assigned to write the script to the new project. Talking about casting Bieber, Mark Wahlberg says, “We’re putting it together. Yeah, we’re doing it at Paramount. We pitched them the idea, and we talked to him about doing it and he loved the idea. Been sending me video — he sent me a video of himself and yeah, I think he’s really talented.
