Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan today began the second phase of shooting for advertisements, promoting tourism in Gujarat, at the Sabarmati Ashram here.

Bachchan, who arrived in the city today, has a five-day schedule during which he would be shooting at Sabarmati Ashram, Porbandar and Dwarka, Tourism department officials said.

After completing his shooting today, Bachchan met Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi at the Circuit House here.

The Sabarmati Ashram was closed for general visitors for nearly five hours when shooting for the advertisement was on.

During his previous week-long schedule from May 28 to June 5, the Bollywood veteran had shot for promotional series known as ’Khushboo Gujarat ki’ (Fragrance of Gujarat), at various locations in the state including Bhuj, desert in Kutch, with lions in Gir forests and at the Somnath temple.

Writing about his experience in Gujarat on his blog, Bachchan had said that he was overwhelmed by the warmth and affection of people during his week-long stay in the State.

The actor has documented his experience at every location on his blog and also posted some of the pictures which he himself had clicked.
