Salman Khan rarely loses his temper before the media people.

Salman Khan seems really upset with the press folks for their consistent queries on his ’troubled’ relationship with beau Katrina Kaif. He asked why his affair was given so much importance while there were so many problems that affected the people in the country.
"...why is Salman-Katrina relationship national news? I am not giving any clarifications, the media can write whatever it want. It is my personal life...," Salman was speakinbg in an interview to a national TV channel. The questions were triggered by the recent quotes by him and Kat, who had said that they were ’single’. Later, Salman denied having said anything of the kind.
The 45-year-old actor said he was very happy for Aishwarya Rai and her marriage with Abhishekl Bachchan. He said, "I am very happy she is married to Abhishek. He is a great guy from a good family. The best thing I can want for her is that she leads a happy life."

On his supposed animosity towards Shah Rukh Khan, Salman said, "I have a lot of respect for Shah Rukh as an actor. We shared some good times playing brothers in `Karan Arjun`. There is no clash between us, but some misunderstandings crop up time and again."

Salman Khan has turned into Producer

salman1

Actor Salman Khan has no immediate plans to follow his brothers Arbaaz and Sohail into production. But says he would love to invest in “small and entertaining” films if he does. Asked about his plans on film production, Salman said “Not now. But if I do I would like to do simple, small and entertaining films.”

Dressed in a black shirt and blue jeans, the actor was at the Kingdom of Dreams complex in the suburb of Gurgaon adjoining the national capital to launch the IIFA Buzz Café in Culture Gully and promote his new film Dabangg. He was accompanied by co-star Sonakshi Sinha and brother Arbaaz.

Also present at the launch of IIFA Buzz Café were actor Hussain Kuwajerwala and actress Kashmeera Irani, who are a part of Bollywood musical Zangoora, to be staged at Nautanki Mahal Sep 17 in the Kingdom of Dreams.

Dabangg, which is Arbaaz’s first movie as a producer, has been directed by debutant Abhinav Kashyap, the younger brother of acclaimed director Anurag Kashyap. It is slated for release on September 10.

The film is set in a small Uttar Pradesh town and has Salman in the role of a policeman. It is also the launch vehicle for Sonakshi, the daughter of veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha.

Salman Khan granted girl wishes

Salman-12

A female fan of Salman Khan managed to sneak into the press conference the actor held in New Delhi to promote his film Dabangg along with the film’s leading lady Sonakshi Sinha and co-star and producer Arbaaz Khan.

Not to be content with just a glimpse of Salman, the fan, named Komal, wanted to ‘touch’ the 44-year-old star. She was with her husband at the event, when she requested Salman to allow her to touch him once. She said it was her lifelong wish.

Salman was sporty and granted an excited Komal the wish. Not only did he allow her to touch him, he also chatted with her.

“I am happy because he was really nice to me. He asked me my name and waved to my husband in the crowd. And he looks so much better in real life,” Komal told a news agency.

After Salman granted Komal her wish, there were other fans as well who wanted to touch Salman. But security intervened to keep them at a distance.

“I am came from Katrina” Says Salman

salman1

When Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif were a couple, their admission of love came forth in just muted tones. Now, when the industry is abuzz with the talks of their split, Salman has thrown a bombshell by admitting that he and Katrina have indeed parted ways.

“I have broken up with Katrina. We were friends then for everybody, we are friends now,” Salman is quoted to have said in an interview to Headlines Today.

The Dabangg star got a little philosophical when asked about the reason of his break-up from Katrina.

“Koi cheez tootati hain toh isliye kyonki ya toh different ways chali gayi hain, ya ek shakhs ki growth nahin hui, ya ek ne kuch aur path chun liya hai, ya sensibility samajh mein nahi aati, ya thinking galat ho gayi hain (A relationship breaks when it strays off in different directions, or when one of the two has stopped growing, or when the other person has chosen a different path, or when the thinking has got distorted).”

Salman did not specify which of these was the reason for his break-up from Katrina.

“It’s just two people not getting along, something that obviously doesn’t end peacefully. But if you can manage to stay friends, there is nothing like it,” he added

Yes, Salman and Katrina are continuing to remain friends.

Salman taught me drawing says Sonakshi

Sonakshi1

I was good at sketching (that’s part of my fashion designer training) but Salman taught me how to raise that art to a new level by introducing me to painting. Painting has a calming effect on me. For now I stick to forms and faces,” the Times of India quoted Sonakshi as saying.

The beautiful said that she took up acting by accident but has fallen in love with it. “I never thought about getting into films though I did have an interest in modelling. Actually, Arbaaz and Salman saw me walk the ramp and approached me for their film. Now I’m hooked to films. I enjoy acting.” Now, she is taking extra care in choosing films.

“I know who I am going to be paired with next, but I can’t talk about it now. And if ever I am going to sign a film it should at least be as good as or better than Dabangg.” She added. Well, she is very lucky to have an actor like Salman to launch her. She has every possibility to become famous like Katrina Kaif, as they share the same mentor in Salman!

Salman has become complete friend of Aamir

salman1

Salman Khan is in complete awe of his best Khan friend. After watching Aamir Khan’s film Peepli [Live] at a special screening recently the man didn’t allow Aamir to touch him. Sounds strange!

Yes, Sallu miyan is quite scared of Aamir’s touch as he fears that the Peepli [Live] producer can turn him to gold. “I didn’t let Aamir touch me after the film. Agar mujhe gold mein badal deta toh???” tweeted Salman. If you are thinking that’s a silly comment by Salman then it is not.

Rather this is a compliment, as Salman has started calling Aamir ‘Mr Midas Touch’ after seeing Peepli [Live].

“Mr Midas Touch has produced a picture. Midas Touch matlab ke Aamir Khan. Natha. Peepli has a mad-a#*touch,” Salman tweeted.

About praising Aamir, we understood. But what does ‘mad-a#* touch

Salman replaces Big B in Big Boss new season

esha_salman1

Bollywood heartthrob, Salman Khan is all set to host the next season of the reality show Big Boss. The channel is sure that Sallu will keep the audiences hooked to its season four.

Buzz is that, both, Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar were approached to host the show, but unfortunately, things didn’t work out in either case.

Now, there is going to be a fierce competition between the Bachchan and the Khan for TRPs, since Kaun Banega Crorepati will be aired on another channel in the same time slot as that of Big Boss.

Shrugging off the comparison, Salman says, “This is standard procedure that channels follow,’’.
“I don’t really care about TRPs. I just like connecting with my audience, which is why I’m doing more of television.’’ The actor goes on to say that he’d love to do more television to reach out to his fans. “For me, television is a way of returning the love and affection that I have got from the audience for the past 22 years. Now they get to see me in the comfort of their homes, and that too for free,’’.

So will Salman follow the Bachchan’s style who played a friend, philosopher and guide to inmates of the house?

“He had his style and I have mine. Besides, Mr Bachchan is going to host another show in a different format. All these comparisons are nowhere in my mind.’’

Khan will be his brutally honest and spontaneous best on the show. He added in all seriousness,

“I’m very straight-forward and won’t tolerate hypocrisy or politics in the house. For those who play clean, I’ll be a friend. But those who don’t, can expect the worst,’’

And what happens to Dus Ka Dum, his television debut that is currently on a break?

“It all depends on the channel,’’ says Khan.

Let’s just say, ‘break toh banta hai na, boss.

Salman Khan going in big way

k-wallp1

Actor Salman Khan has taken up the cause of girl child education in a big way as he is ready to launch an initiative that will see him help underprivileged girls from both India and Sri Lanka.
This global cause will also have the actor funding education to a selected few right up to college, apart from him doing his bit by campaigning and bringing attention to the right of education through his shows.

A close friend of the actor reveals, “Salman had initially planned the initiative only for India. But when he went to Sri Lanka, first for an award ceremony and then for Bhushan Kumar’s Ready that is being shot now, he saw that girls in the island nation need a lot of support especially in the areas like Jaffna that were most hit by war tragedies.

Salman has also been blown away by the love and adulation that the people of the country have given and he also wants to give back to this country.”

The insider adds, “Salman will try his best to reach out to as many girls as possible. A team from his charity will look at spotting talents who deserve this support.”

Salman had told DNA, “When you set out to do good, you don’t think which gender you will help or if there was a particular community that you will reach out to.”

Salman Khan shelled out generous funds towards cancer and AIDS patients

salman-

He’s charitable to his very bone. Hah, quite literally. Salman Khan, who’s shelled out generous funds towards cancer and AIDS patients, now intends to turn… bone marrow donor!

Reportedly, SK was appalled to learn about the dismal number of donors in India, since awareness about it was quite marginal. His interest grew after SK learnt that bone marrow donation could prove to be a life saver for patients suffering from tuberculosis and blood cancer.

Says a close source, "Salman will be holding a number of camps to spread awareness about it. He has been encouraging a number of his friends to come forward and donate their bone marrow. And of course, he’s going to do it himself."

Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha's shooting for a rain song

salman-

There’s bound to be masti on the sets when Salman Khan is in his elements. The actor has been shooting for a rain song for the film Dabangg in Wai with co-star Sonakshi Sinha.

We hear that the two actors have been having a whale of a time while getting wet in the sweltering summer heat for the shoot of the song titled “Tere Mast Mast Do Nain”.

At times while giving a take the duo keep dancing in the rain even after the director calls out a ‘cut’. Moreover, they seem to be in such a groovy mood that at times they break into a jig at whim.

The shoot began from Tuesday and wrapped up on Thursday.

Salman Khan never mind the unflattering response to his 'Veer'

iifa_aw

He’s surely ’Wanted’ by his producers. And never mind, the unflattering response to his ’Veer’, Salman Khan is wanted some more by his abiding admirers…

Khan’s period opus may not have bagged historic success in Mumbai, but in territories such as Nizam, where SK spells Big Business, ’Veer’ galloped gloriously to turn winner, raking in jaw dropping collections.

Incidentally, Khan has a sterling stronghold on Nizam, in comparison to other stars such as Akshay Kumar and other saleable Khans. And there is no deficit of producers chasing SK for him to nod assent to their ventures. Though, SK has been taking his own sweet time to answer in the affirmative…

Zarine Khan would never be able to don a two-piece costume

Zarine-

Flaunting one’s body in a bikini is no more taboo in Hindi films, but new entrant Zarine Khan, who debuted with ‘Veer’, says she would never be able to don a two-piece costume on screen.

In ‘Veer’, the Mumbai girl was covered from head to toe throughout the film. But is she ready to play a chic urban girl and wear contemporary costumes in her future movies?

‘I am more than willing to do so. What I am sure about though is that I would never be able to wear a bikini. That’s because I am constantly thinking that I am fat, I am fat, I am fat. Till the time this voice reverberates inside my head, I will always be apprehensive,’ Zarine told IANS.

‘I’m very conscious about my weight. In fact, during my school and college days, I used to weigh as much as 100 kilos. It’s only now that I weigh a lot lesser. I want to play all kinds of roles and get into the kind of attire that a Hindi film heroine is required to wear.

‘However, before that I will have to get rid of all the excess weight that I currently have on me. It’s just a few more pounds to go and after that it should all be well,’ said Zarine.

Zarine, who plays princess Yashodhara in ‘Veer’ that has Salman in the lead role, understands that if she wants to be in the business of showbiz, she will need a good figure.

‘Whatever role that I consent to play, it has to be done with dedication. However, I’m a new entrant and there are so many established actresses who are taking the size zero route. Obviously, I can’t beat them due to my body structure, but I wish to get into shape to the best of my ability,’ she said.

Narrating her journey of weighty issues, Zarine said: ‘It was only after I started doing modelling that my weight went down by 40-45 kilos from an original 100. I have a tendency to lose and put on weight. This is why while working on ‘Veer’, I was so happy. For a change no one was asking me to lose weight.’

In ‘Veer’ she was not required to look skinny; therefore she could even pile on chocolates.

‘Why just chocolates? I also got to eat other junk stuff which I had to earlier sacrifice. Any actress would have thought 1,000 times before eating the kind of things that I got on a platter on the sets of ‘Veer’. Having said that, I had to be reasonably conscious about not becoming 100 kilos again. I was regular with my workouts to maintain a curvaceous body.’

Zarine is now biding her time before she gets ready for her next venture.

‘I am taking things slow and waiting for what best comes to me next. Industry has been supportive so far though I’m looking forward to something concrete. I’m taking things slow; there is no hurry,’ she said.

Salman Khan and his sister-in-law performed an item song together

4961141

Salman Khan and his beautiful sister-in-law Malaika Arora have never before shared screen space, let alone performed an item song together.

The status quo changes this Tuesday (12 January) when the sizzling Malaika known to set the screen on fire with song- and-dance numbers like Chaiyyan chaiyyan (with Shah Rukh Khan) in Dil Se and Mahi ve in Kaante, is all set to do an item song with Salman Khan for the Abhinav Kashyap-directed Dabangg.

The song which goes with the raunchy title Munni badnaam hui darling tere liye is composed by Lalit Pandit. Salman’s new best-friend Farah Khan will choreograph the sizzling-hot track.

Malaika’s husband Arbaaz Khan who produces Dabangg confirms Malaika’s item song with Salman. “It’s a very earthy track in one of those rugged sweaty Bihari bars, something like Beedi jalaile on Omkara but different.

Malaika will play a dancer who has come from out of town to regale the revelers. While she will be dancing Salman joins her.”

While the rest of the songs in Dabangg are composed by Sajid-Wajid, the Salman-Malaika item song is tuned by Lalit Pundit.

Says Arbaaz, “When I heard the track I knew I had to have it in Dabangg. It will set the the charts on fire. And Malaika will certainly do justice to it.”

Although Arbaaz has a pivotal role in Dabangg he doesn’t share any scenes with his wife.

Says Arbaaz, “My hands are pretty full as producer and actor in Dabangg. I’m enjoying every bit of it.

We want the film to come out as something special, and not just another movie. Though it’s a full-on action-packed drama Dabangg will present Salman like never before.”

Arbaaz hopes to release Dabangg during Eid this year.

Salman Khan is planning to bring yet another period film

veer

Our birdies just got hold of this juicy khabhar….

It is said that Salman Khan is planning to bring yet another period film! The actor is said to be quite interested to bring
in a film based on the famous Mongol warrior Chengez Khan, the greatest ruler of men.

It seems the idea struck through a casual gupshup during Sallu’s birthday party. People were complimenting Salman on his
rugged warrior look in Veer and suggested he take up more period films. This when the name Chengez Khan popped up and
immediately Salman told his friends he would indeed like to make a film on the legendary invader, birdies revealed.

Not only this… It is rumoured that he has already begun researching the subject and will be writing the script after Veer
releases. He is also said to be flying to the US to explore the possibility of tying up with an international producer.

Salman Khan's worst nightmare coming true at Mehboob Studio

gfx_216

Salman Khan is on a promotion spree for Veer these days. But the brawny star got in an awkward situation when he saw himself trapped between Aishwarya Rai and Katrina Kaif at Mehboob Studio.

It so happened, all three of them landed up at the same venue for their respective work. Aishwarya was at Mehboob studio shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish in morning. Almost two hours later, Katrina too came there to shoot for an advertisement. Katrina’s vanity van was parked a short distance from Aishwarya’s.

Then almost an hour later, Salman came for interviews of Veer. On spotting the two former lovers on two sides of his Van, Salman Khan was heard saying ‘Pagal Ho Gaya Hai Kya?’

He was visibly upset, but there was no way the van could have moved to any other place and Salman had to give his interviews for ‘Veer’ outside the Van. Later, he felt completely lost and did not know how to react when Ash and Katrina were walking in and out of their van frequently.

Now that’s what we call a worst nightmare coming true.

Salman Khan knack for painting with his fingers

24look1

Salman Khan has his fingers in too many pies. He’s an actor, a painter and now he’s even penned a story for Veer. Interestingly, it was on the sets of this film that a hidden skill of Salman the painter came to the fore - his knack for painting with his fingers.

We hear that in between the shots on the sets of the movie, Salman would get his fingers smudged with paints and create exotic, spiritual faces on canvases.

Producer Vijay Galani was particularly struck with Salman’s nifty fingerwork.

Not just the canvases, Salman also helped the film’s art director in painting the sets.

And now that the film is set to release on January 22, we hear that Galani is thinking of putting up for auction the canvases Salman painted on the sets. The idea is still tentative, but there’s a strong chance that the paintings will go under the hammer.

Veer is the first movie ever to be shot in Buckingham Palace

veer

Eros International and Vijay Galani’s ‘Veer’ is the first movie ever to be shot in Buckingham Palace.

Buckingham Palace is the official London residence of the British Monarch and is a setting of only state occasions and royal hospitality however a rare exception was made in this case and Anil Sharma’s ‘Veer’ starring Salman Khan was given permission to shoot within the premises.

Reveals a source, “Buckingham Palace is a literal sacred ground for British royalty and they never allow any commercial activity to take place within its boundaries but they did make an exception for ‘Veer’. The setting of the palace gave a larger than life feel to the film; any other location would just not have done justice to the script.”

“3 months prior permission was taken to shoot within the royal palace. The stills shot within Buckingham Palace look surreal,” adds the source.

Eros International and Vijay Galani’s ‘Veer’, an epic tale of a warrior is all set to release January 2010.

Salman Khan’s VEER one of the biggest blockbusters of Hindi cinema

9f1b363

Though the reactions to the promos of Salman Khan’s Anil Sharma directed period drama flick VEER were quite negative, but what everyone conveniently forgot was that the director of VEER is Anil Sharma, who has given GADAR: EK PREM KATHA, one of the biggest blockbusters of Hindi cinema.

Not many will remember that when the first promos/ look of Anil Sharma’s GADAR were out, the reactions that it received were almost similar to what Salman’s VEER received. There was a lot of criticism of its old, jaded look with a section of the media poking fun at its trailers especially in comparison to LAGAAN, which was a stylish period film and released alongside GADAR.

To sum up Salman’s VEER is definitely in capable hands and there is no reason why Salman fans can’t expect a GADAR out of VEER. Here’s hoping that it does!

Salman Khan is a great fan of a particular television reality show

Bollywo

A special jasoos tells us that Bollywood badshah Salman Khan is a great fan of a particular television reality show.

Now you don’t have to be a PhD in Bollywood entertainment to guess which TV show is catching Sallu miya’s attention these days. It’s none other than Bigg Boss.

And no points for guessing why. How can we forget that Sallu’s ‘special friend’ Claudia Ciesla is in Bigg Boss and the popular reality show has just entered its last phase now?

Our source tells us that once the show goes on air each evening, Sallu bhaiya tries to catch up wherever he is. If not, he will try to get the late night edition or will try to find out the outcome of the day from friends.

And Fridays and Mondays - the eviction and nomination days respectively - are very special. Bollywood’s favourite star and heart-throb of millions of women the world over, will do everything to be in front of a TV set on Fridays and Mondays.

We tried to ask Salman about his sudden interest in Bigg Boss, but all that he did was give us one of his trillion-dollar shy smiles. Ok Sally bhaiya we get the point. We will leave you to your TV set at least on Fridays and Mondays.
